Day 10 in Phoenix. LAST day here. 245 miles today

Al and I are leaving at 0700 tomorrow morning.
We are hoping the weatherman can be trusted. We shall see.
Today we went to Payson AZ for lunch.

Leaving Phoenix you can see the mountains in the distance.

 

 Then as you get further out of town everything is desert. SURPRISE.....

 Getting closer. There is a Payson sign next to the casino sign. ONLY 72 miles to go.

 As you leave the valley things change with the altitude.

 Trees....... Close to 5000 feet here

 As you head down into Payson things change again.

 We FINALLY made it Payson for lunch.

 And BOY did AL have lunch... That is a half pound burger on a bun with chili and cheese.

 I couldn't let him out do me so I added onions to mine.
